This weekend was quite low key as compared to our last couple...
Two weeks ago, David and I took in a stray cat that had been wondering about the neighborhood for over a week. We brought it inside (to the basement) and gave it food and water. Initially, we thought that maybe we would keep him. But after several interactions with Mogley, we decided to take it to the shelter nearby.
Last weekend, we adopted on our own a second dog named Dooby (pictured) from the Heartland Humane Society. We loved him and his temperament, but Mogley seemed not himself. So we sadly returned him.
Now you're caught up...
Today, after having relaxing afternoons with friends and family, David and I were on our way to the grocery store to shop for the week. As we came to a stop sign just down the street from our house, we saw a beagle at the intersection. I pulled the car over and David went to see if it had a tag, of course it did not. So we brought him back to the house and called animal control.
I don't know if you know this, but animal control will only pick up a dog during regular business hours or incases of injury and emergency. Because this very lovable, well behaved beagle was not in distress (freezing cold temperatures do not apparently count). They could do nothing. So we called the humane society who told us to bring him in and scan him for a microchip... He had a chip, an invalid chip. Alas, as I sit her writing, the beagle is in our basement until the animal shelter opens tomorrow.
We just have all the luck.
